The Love Language

Still battling the flu of swine, so I'm going to keep this short. I met Stu and Jordan in my Current Events class in my freshmen year of high school while they were seniors. We were down and I've jammed with them on a few occasions, but I never had an idea that these guys would blow up and become the indie darlings they are today. P4K (all hail) gave their debut a 7.4 and heaps of praise have come from other various media outlets. I've seen these guys more than any other band. Whenever they play in town or in the Triangle (Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh), I'm sure to be at the show, singing along with every word. It's always a great show and never disappoints even a veteran LL fan such as myself.

The music is the brainchild of Stuart McLamb. He's backed by a group of friends whom include his enormously tall and multi-instrumentalist brother, Jordan, the beautiful ladies on keyboard(s), Missy and Kate, and the guitar/bass and drums of Junis, Josh, and Tom. The sound is uniquely their own, a blend of indie pop and balladry akin to Ray Orbinson. Can't wait to hear more from these guys. A fun little side-note: when asked about the infusion of lo-fi production into the indie sound, Stu responded with, "[sic] I never meant to make a lo-fi album. I thought I was the greatest producer in the world!"
